Adding Your Radio

This code has been developed by Claudio IW1QLH.

To add your radio (server) you must create an upload account:

  1. Click here to create an account.
  2. Fill in the form and wait for the e-mail.
    ...
  3. In the e-mail you'll see an upload code - use this in the Server's On-Air Status pane, make sure [_] Enable is checked - when checked the title changes to On-Air Status [On].
  4. Select the Radios and Soundcards the remote user can select.
  5. Press Enable in the Connection pane.
  6. In the Logfile window check that the uploads are working.
    ...
  7. If you lose your upload code refer to the FAQ.
  8. The latest Client-Server user guide is available on the Documentation page.

Multiple Servers

If you have two or more radios then use a unique server instance for each radio.

  • Start a new instance from the Start Instance menu.
  • Each instance must use a different port, for example 7900, 7901, 7902... which in turn require correct router configuration.
  • In the Radio & Soundcards pane select only one radio or soundcard for each instance.
  • The On-Air Status window uses the same Callsign and upload code for each instance.
  • Each instance has its own Options and On-AIr Status settings.

To start a specific instance from a .BAT file or from a DOS window add the argument /instance=x where x is the instance number in the range 1 to 5.

Accurate IP Lookup

The server executable uses the GeoLite Country database from www.maxmind.com which returns the country to which the incoming IP address is assigned. This database file is embedded in the executable and cannot be changed.

For more accurate lookups the GeoLite City database is supported; you must download this yourself from www.maxmind.com .

On http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecity look for the CSV Format database link, the database is a ZIP archive conatining two files:

  1. GeoLiteCity-Blocks.csv and
  2. GeoLiteCity-Location.csv .

Extract these two files from the archive and save them in the folder where the remote server execuatble is located, for example on a Windows 7 64-bit system this is C:\Program Files (x86)\SDR-RADIO.com .

Now restart the remote server. You will see that more CPU resources are used while the program starts, this is due to the size of the database, often about 130MB. After the database has been loaded the CPU usage will return to normal.

When a user connects to your server you now see more detailed information, for example see this logfile.
